The Super Visa is a multiple-entry visa, valid up to 10 years, that lets parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents stay for up to 5 years per visit. It is the practical alternative to the lottery-based Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP).

How it works
- Confirm host income: The child or grandchild in Canada shows they meet the minimum necessary income.
- Buy qualifying medical insurance: Obtain at least one year of Canadian medical insurance for the visitor.
- Submit the Super Visa application: File with the invitation letter, insurance proof, and income evidence.
- Complete medical & travel: Pass the immigration medical exam, then travel on the issued visa.
